Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

I had an idea that I wanted to make a smoothie that tasted like a banana crossed with an Almond Joy. This Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie doesn’t taste exactly like that, but it did turn out delicious and it has all the same flavors. The banana and toasted coconut yogurt give it a bit of a tropical feel and the cocoa powder and almond milk make it taste a little like dessert. This smoothie would make an awesome breakfast or snack, and it’s a great way to get in some fruit and dairy all at once!

Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Yield: 2 (1 cup) servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium ripe banana (make sure it’s ripe, if you use a green-skinned banana it will lose a lot of flavor)
  • 5.3 oz coconut flavored Greek yogurt (I used Dannon Light & Fit Greek Toasted Coconut Vanilla)
  • ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup ice (I just threw in 5-6 cubes)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and well combined. Recipe yields about 2 cups.
