Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground chicken or ground turkey (use 92-93% lean)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 2 ½ cups Bisquick Heart Smart Baking Mix (or original Bisquick baking mix)
  • cup skim milk (measure as 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 8 oz shredded 2% milk sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the ground chicken, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and fennel seeds and stir with a fork or mush together with clean hands until thoroughly combined. Add the Bisquick, milk, parsley, and shredded cheese and stir together with a spoon (or you can use an electric mixer) until well combined.
  • Divide the meat mixture into 32 even piles and roll each one into a ball (it helps if you spray your palms with cooking spray before rolling). Each ball is roughly two tablespoons if you’d rather do it that way. Place the balls a bit apart on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-24 minutes until cooked through.
