Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
These little cookies have big chocolate flavor, and even though they’re a Weight Watchers recipe, they use all real ingredients; no artificial sweeteners or crazy substitutions (I’ve tried making chocolate chip cookies from Rocco DiSpirito’s healthy cookbook using cannellini beans instead of flour and no matter what he says, they do NOT taste like real cookies). I thought these were good and one or two of them definitely satisfies a chocolate craving. The recipe makes 40 small cookies, so be prepared to share!
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp table salt
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Stir flour (unpacked), baking soda and salt in a large bowl and set aside.
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter and brown sugar together and medium speed until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beat well. Then add cocoa and egg whites, beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until combined. Stir in mini chocolate chips by hand.
- Coat baking sheets with cooking spray and then drop 40 rounded teaspoons of dough at least 1-1.5” apart onto the sheets. Bake for 8-9 minutes. Cool on pans for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

1 per cookie, 3 for 2 cookies (P+ calculated using the recipe builder on weightwatchers.com)
Have you tried baking and substituting the butter with applesauce? Would that cut some of the calories and make a healthier cookie? Just a thought.
I use applesauce in place of butter in some baked goods, but the applesauce would make for a very cake-like cookie. Butter helps give it that cookie texture. If you want to try it with applesauce, feel free!
Another great one Emily! Hard to only eat one!
So happy you loved them, Cassie!
How many calories?
Ohhhh my…heaven! I made them with special dark cocoa, used Lily’s dark chocolate chips (70g), and reduced the white sugar down to 1/3 cup. Using a 1T cookie scoop I got 24 cookies coming out to 3 Freestyle Smart Points each!! Keeper recipe for sure!!!
